BA (Hons) Fine Art
My degree allowed me to cover a wide spectrum of contemporary Fine Art practices and techniques such as critical inquiry of subject matter, effective use of various digital software and research skills. This allowed me to research subjects outside my art degree as well as to do field research. I did field research in both contemporary and private galleries in France and Germany.
During my second year I underwent two modules that had a great academic impact on my work. These modules were Extended Context and Art History.
Extended context module offered me the opportunity to work in a professional context with the Cromford Mill and learn about Richard Arkwright contribution as one of the founders of the Industrial Revolution. As part of my degree I had to create an art project inspired by one of the many historical events that happened at the Mill. I chose to do my project about the damage that was left after the colour company and how much work was put into saving the main building from lead poisoning. This module gave me the opportunity to present my idea in front of the Cromford Mill committee for revision and space allocation. Using well-organized research and physical material, I managed to impress the committee and get a bigger space allocated to my artwork.
Interest
I enjoy researching various topics in my free time in order to diversify my art practice. I am a keen reader having a particular affliction for classical literature. I enjoy drawing, sculpting, learning new languages and helping raise money for charities. I am working on growing and developing my art portfolio through different social media platforms. Furthermore, I enjoy gaining experience in different fields with little to no prior involvement to garner knowledge and experience of an entirely new discipline
